2024 mushi was running around proc gen worlds for a month then his reality ended
Mushi existed briefly in 2025
And then Mushi went away for awhile while another game idea got pushed to the front.
Starting again with simple terrain generation. At least this time I don't have to learn the right way to wind vertices to get proper normals and collisions. And we're making a similiar concept, an island with multiple places to visit, and a big mountain in the middle with a crater with a town in it.
Different debugs and placeholder bells and whistles later, I've got the rudimentary places, some procedural building roughs, roads, good enough to advance.
Mini map and more rules and a save/load and a menu system and grass and trees and etc later, it's looking more likely.
A whole bunch of other side projects pop up while this is happening because I have a whole bunch of things I want to try out. Not trying to make this entirely procedural, just love procedural stuff.
The game has an identity. Although hopefully it's more subtle in play.
Whoever you are in the world doesn't matter, what matters is that there's a ghost king trapped in a crypt and he wants out.
OOF THAT DID NOT WORK, I wanted a debug map for city placement logic and this is not it but I like it.
No we need a gentle road up the mountain with some switchbacks you have done a devastation.
Okay well it's a debug cadastral map! Even if it shows that what we're doing is wrongo.
Okay hey at least the debug is looking good but something is going wrong in...multiple directions simultaneously.
Hey there we go!!
There we go! Okay, now just have to tune up the building generator, get some styles in, and I think with an asset update this will be ready for a video! Huzzah!Â
